NOSPŪN

Nospūn is a progressive metal band from North Carolina that quickly drew attention following the release of their debut album Opus in 2023. Widely praised by fans and media alike, the record is often cited as one of the strongest progressive metal debut albums of that year. 

Rooted in the modern progressive metal landscape while drawing clear influence from the genre’s classic foundations, Nospūn’s sound recalls elements associated with bands such as Dream Theater, Haken, Tool, Devin Townsend and Symphony X, while maintaining a distinct and contemporary identity.

Released as a full length concept album, Opus stands out for its sense of pacing and cohesion. Rather than relying on excess, the record emphasizes songwriting, thematic continuity and musical development through extended instrumental passages, expressive vocal lines and carefully constructed arrangements. 

Since then, Nospūn have continued to build momentum with the release of the Ozai EP and a growing presence on the international live circuit. The band performed at ProgPower USA in 2024 and ProgPower Europe in 2025, and toured Europe in 2025 alongside ProgStorm Festival alumni Voidchaser, sharing the stage with bands such as Soulsplitter, Vulkan and Quantum. These appearances have helped establish Nospūn as a rising name within the global progressive metal scene.

Nospūn will perform on Sunday, August 23, 2026. This will mark their Canadian premiere.
