VULKAN

Vulkan is a progressive rock and metal band from Sweden. Meaning “volcano” in Swedish, the band has forged a sound since their inception in 2006 that blends heavy progressive rock, emotional melodies and cinematic atmosphere, eventually becoming one of the most listened to bands in the genre.

Their early releases showed a band exploring ideas and shaping their identity, but it was Technatura in 2020 that truly revealed what Vulkan is capable of. The album stands out for its fluid songwriting, its bold rhythmic approach and its ability to shift from delicate moments to explosive intensity with complete naturalness. It is the kind of record that resonates on first listen but continues to grow over time, and it played a major role in bringing the band to a wider audience. With more than one hundred thousand monthly listeners on streaming platforms and several songs reaching millions of plays, Vulkan is a band whose rise is impossible to ignore.

Vulkan has played festivals such as ProgPower Europe in 2022, Ostrow Rock Festival and the inaugural Prog Metal Mania in 2025, and they will appear at CL Prog in South America in 2026. Over the years, they have also shared the stage with major progressive acts such as Pain of Salvation, and are about to embark on a European tour with Soen, confirming their place within today’s modern progressive scene.

ProgStorm Festival 2026 will mark Vulkan’s very first appearance in Canada and their first ever performance anywhere in North America.
