GREYLOTUS

Greylotus is a progressive technical death metal band from Baltimore, Maryland. Their music moves between dense, technical riffing, bursts of controlled chaos and more atmospheric, melodic passages, often weaving in orchestral, acoustic and electronic textures.

Their debut full length Dawnfall, released in 2022, was noted for its ambitious songwriting and wide emotional range, balancing heaviness and restraint while using the life cycle of the lotus flower as a metaphor for themes of self development and transformation. In 2024, Greylotus released Motherwort, continuing along the same path while refining their sense of dynamics and structure. According to The Progspace, the album stands out for its pacing and emotional clarity, allowing heavy and technical moments to sit naturally alongside more restrained and melodic sections.

Greylotus has toured alongside Abiotic, Cognitive and God of Nothing, and took part in the Techabilitation Festival in 2020. Their growing presence in the progressive and technical metal scene later led them to United Kingdom Tech Fest 2022, with further touring and international exposure continuing to follow.

Often mentioned alongside artists such as Fallujah, Animals as Leaders, Shadow of Intent, Lorna Shore, Beneath the Massacre, Abiotic and Wormhole, Greylotus is regarded as a promising presence within the modern progressive and technical death metal landscape.
