CHRONOCHROMIE

Chronochromie is a Montreal based math progressive metal project formed in 2022. Led by composer, vocalist and guitarist Alexandre David alongside drummer and visual artist Samuel David, the project bridges contemporary composition techniques with the physical intensity of extreme music.
Drawing on Alexandre David’s background in contemporary classical and experimental music, Chronochromie builds its sound around non cyclic forms, complex rhythm, unusual harmony and dense textural writing. Musical material is constantly transformed and recontextualized, creating an unpredictable and highly immersive listening experience.
The project first introduced its sound with the EP Epoch in 2023, noted for its heaviness, complexity and instrumental approach. In 2025, Chronochromie expanded its musical direction with a new series of releases including Proplyd, Fragments, Silence Be My Name and In the Twilight’s Embrace, marking a new phase where vocals and cinematic elements take on a more prominent role.
With its fusion of technical metal, progressive rock, contemporary classical concepts and bold musical exploration, Chronochromie stands as one of Montreal’s most promising and forward thinking projects in the genre.
