ANCIIENTS
From Vancouver, Canada
Anciients is an award-winning progressive metal band from Vancouver whose sound sits at the intersection of heavy riff-driven metal, expansive and long-evolving songwriting and stoner-infused groove.
The band first gained attention with Heart of Oak (2013), a debut that clearly established their identity and set them apart within the progressive metal landscape. This was followed by Voice of the Void (2016), a darker and more aggressive album built around longer compositions and a wider emotional scope. In 2024, Anciients returned with Beyond the Reach of the Sun, a record that leans into a heavier and more introspective direction, with vocals exploring themes of loss, renewal and personal transformation.
Over the years, Anciients have earned two Juno Awards for Metal Hard Music Album of the Year, a rare achievement that reflects both their consistency and their lasting impact on the Canadian metal scene.
On stage, the band has taken this material across North America and beyond, touring with acts such as Lamb of God, Death to All, Decapitated, Tesseract and Scale the Summit. More recently, Anciients have been announced for EuroBlast festival in Germany, as well as for a coast-to-coast Canadian tour with Cancer Bats, further solidifying their place among Canada’s most respected progressive metal bands.
