AETERNAM

Aeternam is an epic death metal band from Quebec City, formed in 2007 around the vision of vocalist and guitarist Achraf Loudiy and drummer Antoine Guertin. Blending death metal with various world music inspired melodies, the band has developed its own unique sound. Over the years, Aeternam has gradually moved toward a more progressive and cinematic approach, with an increasing focus on storytelling, dynamics and immersive arrangements.

After releasing four albums, including Ruins of Empire (2017) and Al Qassam (2020), both well received by critics, this evolution reached a new high point with Heir of the Rising Sun, released in 2022. The album stands as a key moment in the band’s trajectory, featuring longer and even more ambitious compositions and stronger progressive elements. Heir of the Rising Sun was named Album of the Year 2022 by Angry Metal Guy, reinforcing Aeternam’s reputation not only in Quebec and Canada, but also on the international stage.

Beyond Canada, Aeternam has built a solid international presence through touring across many countries of Europe and the United States, as well as appearances at major events such as 70000 Tons of Metal. The band has also shared the road with acts such as Suffocation, Týr and Orphaned Land. Today, alongside Loudiy and Guertin, the band features Maxime Boucher on bass and Mathieu Roy Lortie on guitar.
